Bio

Bob Sitrick is a Senior Television Production and Operations Executive with over 30 years in the television industry. Bob is experienced in coordinating all aspects of live and remote television productions, including expeditions and live events such as Upfront, TCA, and screenings. He has extensive experience in News at the local level and Sports at the Network level.

Most notably, Bob’s unique live entertainment productions for both Comedy Central and the Discovery US Networks have included technically challenging broadcasts like “Titanic Live”, “Egypt Week Live” and “Croc Hunter Live,” as well as the first ever live HD downlink from the International Space Station. In his last 5 years at Discovery, Bob managed over 50 live television shows and over 150 live events. He also has over 13 years leading and managing Network Operations Departments.



Professional Experience:

Bob Sitrick Productions - Current
Technical Management for live television productions and live events Set-up and managed live productions for Discovery Networks, Travel Channel, TV One and National Geographic. Executive Produced Content Theater at NAB Show in Las Vegas. I add a level of technical expertise for companies no longer staffed in this area.

Discovery Communications Inc. 1997 – 2008
Position: Senior Vice President, Live Events & Special Production Services
Coordinated all live and high profile events for Discovery’s U.S. Networks. Included all live and short turn-around television programs for 12 Discovery Domestic Networks as well as all high-level presentations (Upfront, TCA, and Screenings) and all internal presentations.

 
Comedy Channel/Comedy Central 1990 – 1997
Position: Director - Operations & Post Production
Oversaw all live television events, setting and maintaining budget for Programming Operations Department, accepting delivery of all programming and formatting all acquisitions. Included hiring of freelance producers, arrangements for all Post Production Activities & Dubbing. Technical voice of the network in daily contact with the N.O.C.

Scheduled Post Production Suites & Personnel, and Dubbing Operations.
 
Freelance Sports Production Services 1988 - 1989
Including boxing for the NBC 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, numerous events for ESPN, and others.

Position: Operations Manager
Responsible for scheduling of Film & Tape Location Shoots, Studio Productions, Post Production Suites and Dubbing Operations. Supervisor for all Production Departments.


CBS Sports in New York 1985 - 1987
Position: Broadcast Associate
Supervised research and coordination of program graphics, located footage for Opens and Features, managed team contacts, travel reservations, and hiring of local crews.

 
WJXT-TV 4 in Jacksonville, Florida 1982 - 1985
Position: Public Service Director
Wrote, shot, edited, produced, and scheduled all station PSA's.
