The 20th Anniversary of Shark week was marked with a huge party and screening of the week’s highlights. The event was held at New York’s Pier 60 and featured a gangplank with sharks swimming underneath (on plasma screens) live sharks in a tank behind the bar, a mosaic of period TV’s with representative Shark Week footage, interactive computers with Discovery’s Shark Week site, and even a shark dunk-tank on the balcony.
