Bob Sitrick joined the expedition for Discovery to search the South Pacific for the wreck of the USS Indianapolis, with four survivors of the tragic ship along for the trip. Bob set up a gyroscopic satellite dish on board the search vessel and filed field reports and photos for the Discovery website.

 

He also did some scuba diving on the expedition. Along with multiple equipment failures with the remote submersible, the crew endured two tropical storms and a Typhoon. The ship was never found.
